AuWARNING: no graphic content to escape death.
Or as the great Benjamin Franklin once said: "Nothing in this world can be said to be certain except death and taxes.
"According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Australia has an average of 159,000 deaths per year.
About people in urban areas choose cremation.
This number is noturban areas.
The cremation process is usually hidden from the public.
Most people prefer to leave it in a black hole.
But for many people who work in the death industry, this is something they stare at many times a day.
Crematorium operator David Bennett has been working at Memorial Gardens and crematorium in the northern suburbs of new state for three years, the second oldest crematorium in Australia.
He goes to work at six o'clock A. M. every working day in Ryder, a suburb of Sydney.
"We have done more than 357,000 cremation since we opened in 1933," Mr Bennett told the news . ". com. au.
Monday at crematorium is usually "quite quiet ".
In those days, the facility usually receives about 10 bodies in sealed coffins from the funeral director.
"It can be a little more than 30 on Friday, and it will be busy," Mr Bennett said . ".
"Families tend to do it on weekends instead of the first thing on Monday.
"We are trying to do it in the order they come in and meet any special requests from the family or the funeral director.
"It's not a good time for anyone, so the more we can do for families, the better they feel.
"Once a body is placed in a coffin and delivered to the crematorium, it gets a metal nameplate with a unique number of" traceability "on it.
"We took the nameplates out of the coffin and they were all the way to the family with ashes so that they would not be confused," Mr Bennett said . ".
Mr. Bennett said that every body sent to the cremation facility was listed on a piece of paper to "make sure we found the right person ".
The staff also checked and signed each file before it was inserted into the furnace.
The crematorium also has surveillance cameras.
"Someone has been looking at us all the time.
So we don't make mistakes . "
"I have to make sure there are no pacemakers and there are no other objects that can cause us problems.
"The pacemakers are not good because it is known that they will explode at crematorium and it will cause a lot of damage and it will cost $110,000 to repair it, which is an expensive proposal.

There are three steel crematorium-by-side.
Each is operated by a handheld controller and comes with a computer screen to monitor temperature, smoke, gas and suction.
According to Mr Bennett, "computers do anything", the crematorium manufacturers in Melbourne can also access and operate remotely.
The main temperature in the furnace needs to be 800-
Before opening the chamber door and inserting it into the coffin, the temperature is 1000 degrees Celsius.
The opening of the door is 949mm high and 1158mm wide.
This is the largest in Australia, so "you can't cremate if you can't get used to it ".
"Once the temperature rises, we can start putting the body in," Mr Bennett said . ".
The tray on the conveyor belt moves the coffin indoors.
The dead always stand up first.
"We put the coffin in and it will catch fire right away," Mr Bennett said . ".
"A large jet comes down from the top and burns the lid first.
"The bed has a banana shape, so when the coffin goes in there is a gap underneath and the air burns faster below.
"So you throw away the box right away and the body starts to burn, that's what we want.
The temperature inside the crematorium should be 800-
1000 degrees Celsius operation.

The cremation of AuA's "standard size corpse" takes about an hour and a half.
It takes up to four and a half hours for a large body.
Mr. Bennett said that it was known that some of the sickly obese bodies would cause a fire, so careful monitoring must be carried out during cremation.
Bennett said that Melbourne's crematorium manufacturers have monitored the crematorium at greater risk and for a long time.
"We arranged it in the afternoon and I can go home and have a good cup of tea," he said . ".
"When it burns, they get suction up and down to maintain a temperature of about 1000 degrees.
If the weather starts to get too hot, they turn on more suction and thus lower the temperature.
"There is water in you, which also helps to keep the temperature balanced.
The remains eventually fall from a narrow funnel and fall into a pit at the bottom of the crematorium, mostly formed by bones.
They are then placed in a removable "gray box.
"I'm wearing protective clothing --
Masks and gloves-
So I don't burn, "said Mr Bennett.
"100 of families want to know that what they get is their loved ones, and we guarantee that.
The Ashes are then taken together with the corresponding nameplate to the "preparation room" and placed on the "instruction fan" that cools them.
A "action processor" then grinds these bones into dust.
"The nameplate follows it and then it all goes into the PVC box," Mr Bennett said . ".

According to the body size of the person at the time of cremation, the average container weight of human ashes is between four and six kilograms.
The front, back and interior of the container are marked with the unique number of the person.
"We have a case where the police show up with a box with labels on the northern suburbs . . . . . . Because we can track the family and return the ashes to them, Mr. Bennett said.
Hundreds of ash-filled containers are arranged on the shelves of the safe storage room in the facility.
Some will be collected by family members later in the day or in the near future.
Others sat there for 20 years.
"For security reasons, we have to lock them up," Mr Bennett said . ".
"As you can see, we still have a lot of ashes to collect.
"We have some kids in their 20 s left in the system.
"They are still here and we are sending letters to our families.
"In the Northern Suburbs Memorial Garden and crematorium, hundreds of containers filled with ash are waiting to be collected.

AuThe crematorium will not deal with anyone's ashes until the family signs.
"We should have only 18 months to honor them, but since we are family oriented, we have been trying to get the family involved, so they can hold a memorial ceremony or take what he said.
In the corner of the preparation room there is a large black bucket filled with metal and ceramic knee pads, femurs, elbows and other replacement body parts that will not melt in crematorium.
"There are a lot of metals that we collect," said Mr Bennett . ".
"We took out all sorts of things: we had ceramic knees, old knees, female knees, and I think I had an elbow somewhere here.
"Unfortunately, you can no longer
Use them because my knees will do very cheap at that time.
"This is a spine with screws through and someone has a very bad back. “A lot of (teeth fillings)just disappear.
"Metal replacement joints in body parts including knees, hips and spine will not melt in the chamber.
They are collected, recycled and donated to charity.

The metal extracted from the crematorium was later sold to recyclers.
The money was donated to different charities, including the police legacy and the Lions Club.
Mr. Bennett said that since Australia does not have a strong enough melting furnace to melt titanium, replacement parts made of titanium must be shipped to the Netherlands.
On the left of the three crematorium is a viewing room where families can watch their loved ones inserted into the room.
There was only one glass window between them.
Mr. Bennett said that when their loved ones were cremated, many Hindus "lay on the floor and pray ".
"Under the rules of occupational health and safety, we are not allowed to leave our family at crematorium because there was a lady here many years ago, her husband was coming in and she was trying to jump in, mr. Bennett said.
"They have to catch her and drag her out.
Sometimes it can be daunting.
We were broken by a woman because her daughter was cremated.
"Sometimes you're fine and don't think about it.
"There are still times when you will be very emotional.
Mr. Bennett says there are many common myths surrounding cremation.
"You 'd be surprised how many people think we took the body out of the coffin and re-
With a coffin, "he said.
"We never put a body in the room alone.
Always in a coffin.

AuChildren are usually cremated with their favorite toy or football, but not just anything can go in.
Mr. Bennett said: "Unfortunately, we can't burn all the flowers, they stick all the flowers on the green little plastic and really ruin the crematorium.
"We put as many flowers as we can, and all the money that Chinese people often put (

"I have to show the receipt if I bring the flowers home.
Anna Jinji, operations manager of the northern suburb Memorial Garden and crematorium, told reporters. com.
Customers "always" put forward cultural requirements.
"In Korean culture, they burn materials as a representation," she said . ".
"So some people bring a bag of material each month to cremate in honor of their loved ones and we will do so.
"Someone has these Viking beliefs lately, so they want to bury them with their swords and little axes.
"The family after (requested)
Residue of metal.
Ms. Kingi said that the trend of cremation rather than burial is on the rise as it is a more cost-effective, energy-efficient and space-efficient option for families.
The facility's crematorium fee starts at about $1500, she said, in addition to the memorial, service and funeral home director fee.
"We found that a lot of people are asking the same questions about traceability and respect," Kingi said . " MS.
"For them, look at how respectful our existing processes are, and we make sure that we maintain identity and integrity at every step of the way, reassuring them.
Ms. Kinji said that during the years she managed the crematorium, she was most impressed by the different ways people "found the closure.
"Some families and cultures maintain very little intimacy, while others have a lot of fanfare," she said . ".
"It was never dull. ”megan. palin@news. com.
