Please allow me to introduce you.
If you're lucky, you might catch her in town next month.
She's a young man with ears. to-ear grin.
The man who plays the clarinet.
Like water.
Dream of traveling in this great country.
Back to the military.
Plan to be a nurse.
Last year, she sold the most Girl Scout cookies in South Texas.
That's 2,418 cases, to be exact.
She is not our Queen of cookies.
No, that's not her style.
Linda, her mother, did not push her to the top of Thin Mint Hill.
There is no pressure to sell and sell.
It just happened.
She set the target of 2,000 boxes of cookies.
An ambitious but viable goal
You see, Morgan is easy with people.
For her, the conversation was as smooth as Samoan in milk.
So it doesn't seem too high for 2,000 cookie boxes to fill in.
But when she and her mom stuffed all the cookies into their car, Morgan began to worry.
"It's a bit nerve --
"Pick up all these cookies and realize this is the amount I have to throw away," she said the other day . ".
"We always have to learn a little more.
Last year, she knocked on the door in town and set 27 tables. She sweat. She froze.
She became so cold on a table outside a that she thawed her hands in a roast chicken heater --
At the advice of her mother.
"I did it completely," Morgan said . ".
"I'm cold.
Anyway, I think.
Morgan, 15, is a new student at Cibolo, charming and hopeful.
"I want to be a travel nurse," she said . ".
But this is the case. When the Girl Scout went, she was old. timer.
This brings some interesting challenges.
It's like when people tell her they 'd rather buy cookies from young Scouts.
Or when her friend resigns and her partner is under increasing pressure, she suddenly becomes the oldest girl in the team.
"I'm used to selling Girl Scout cookies myself," she said . ".
"I think I'm comfortable.
"Hell, she didn't even tell her friends at school that she was in Girl Scouts.
"A lot of my friends don't know I'm in Girl Scouts," Morgan said . ".
"I 've just started in high school, so I guess that's something I'm not sure how my friends will react. ”Teenagers. Sheesh.
My reaction is praise.
Isn't it the only response that Morgan donated hundreds of cookie boxes to service members every year?
She dug a community garden, was full of volunteers in the town, and recently helped create a story stroll in the Schertz Public Library.
For people who don't take the initiative, story walking is a proper name: you take a road and read a part of a book every 20 steps or so (
The page is on the metal plate, so this project is built to last).
In order to do this, she must first convince some children's book authors and publishers to have their stories re-published
Print and display.
She then had to raise money in order to achieve that.
The goal is to tell a story, but Morgan finally got nine.
Of course she did.
The curator of the Schertz Public Library learned about Morgan through scouts, and she was surprised that she was able to put aside peer pressure.
According to Morgan's age, "many girls think it's no longer cool to be part of a Girl Scout," said ulhorn.
"The work she put in, in what she went through, she got three times the reward. ”Right.
Like the cookie boxes she sold.
Every box Morgan sells supports her troops and Girl Scouts in southwest Texas.
Support camps and operations.
They also pay for incentives like the ipad, and in Morgan's case they pay for scuba and sailing classes.
But what it really means is that all these cookies support the growth and dreams of girls like Morgan.
"I think she's proud of herself and she should be proud of herself," said AKA Morgan's mother . ".
"She set these big goals and she worked hard.
The cookie season is back, and Morgan Russell is back.
Her target for this year is 2,000 boxes of cookies.
If you are lucky, you may catch up with her in the next few weeks.
She was easily discovered.
She's a young man with ears. to-ear grin.
A young lady who loves sailing and dreams of becoming a travel nurse, her future is as bright as the summer sun.
