How to install concrete anchors.
How to connect wood/Wood to concrete or any other solid masonry surface using masonry anchors/DynaBolts. DynaBolts (
This is the name of the Australian anchor.
They know other names in other countries)
It is the ideal anchor to connect almost anything to concrete and other solid brick stones.
This video will show you how to attach wood to a concrete floor.
The tools you need are: hearing protection, dust cover. Goggles. Bike pump (
Remove concrete dust from the hole after drilling).
Hammer drill or rotary hammer drill.
Suitable concrete anchor
Masonry drill bit suitable for anchor diameter size.
For example, if your masonry Bolt is 10mm in diameter, you will use a masonry drill bit of 10mm.
After installation, tighten the anchor with a hammer, wrench or sleeve.
The steps to connect the wood to the concrete using a masonry anchor are as follows: Step 1: First position the wood in place anddrill (if necessary)the hole (in the timber)
Where do you want the concrete anchor to go.
I personally don't pre-drill.
If you have a rotary hammer drill, it is very capable of drilling through the wood (pine framing)
Use a masonry drill.
Step 2: Prepare the wood, use a hammer drill or a rotary drill, drill holes in the concrete to ensure that the depth of the hole is about 10mm deeper than the length of the anchor.
This will ensure that even if a little bit of debris is left at the bottom of the hole after drilling, the anchor will not fall down early and make it proud of the surface of the wood.
Believe me, you don't want this to happen.
Note that the concrete thickness on a typical ground floor is only about 100mm or 4 inch, unless it is a building perimeter that is actually quite thick.
You don't want to drill deeper than this, otherwise you will directly penetrate the plasma barrier under the flat and flat plates, which may result in moisture from plastic and concrete.
Anyway, once you drill to the depth you want, run the drill bit up and down several times to help clear the dust from the drill.
Leave the drill bit in the hole and remove the dust from the hole.
Once drilled, make sure all concrete dust is removed from inside and around the hole.
Using a bicycle pump is a good way to remove excess dust from the hole.
Step 3: Insert the anchor into the hole (
Please note that the concrete anchors are made of various materials.
Some are only suitable for indoor use, and some are suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Read the back of the package in detail).
At this point, you hit the anchor with a hammer.
Finally, use a wrench or sleeve (
The right way is to use a torque wrench, but it is not correct for many people to use a torque wrench.
, Tighten the nut on the top until it is tightened and you are done! ! ! !
Bonus tip: when drilling into concrete, the rotary hammer drill is more effective than the standard hammer drill.
They only spent about $60. 00.
Worth investing!
Thanks for watching.
