Stainless steel appliances make the kitchen look stylish and modern-But they can also be your finishing touches.Budget for kitchen renovation.Make your appliance a stainless steel and you can have the same heightNo end look for the price tag. This project is easy but timeBecause it requires several layers of paint, it takes about an hour for each layer to dry.Stainless steel paint is available for almost any appliance, but not all paint brands are attached directly to all surfaces.Check the label to see if the paint brand you are using requires a primer. Some brands do not need primer when applied to metal, but do need primer when applied to glass or plastic.Whether you have a primer or not, thoroughly clean the surface with a window cleaner before starting, and cover the surface with a painter's tape to protect the surface you are not going to paint.Shake the paint can, then open it and stir what's inside. When painting large electrical appliances such as refrigerators, use rollers to quickly paint. The paint is then smoothed using a wide foam brush, which will produce an artificial stainless steel effect.Lengthen the brush, even from the top of the surface to the bottom, or from the left edge to the right edge. For smaller appliances, skip the roller and just apply paint with a brush. In order to keep the paint work smooth and uniform, each layer of paint needs to be thinner;Otherwise, the finished product will become dim and rough, not glossy and smooth.A layer of stainless steel paint does not completely cover the surface, so it is coated with three layers of thin coating to create a real stainless steel look. Before applying the next coating, allow each coating to dry for 60 minutes or the length of time specified by the manufacturer. After the stainless steel paint is dry, wait for two hours and apply at least one layer of transparent finish. Each coat of finish adds luster to the stainless steel finish.Depending on the look you want, apply up to three layers--satin, semi-Gloss or highlight.Coat the top coat over three layers to cover too thick stainless steel paint and start to dim the finish instead of adding luster.Wait between coats for the length of time specified by the manufacturer. After applying the last layer, wait another two hours before removing the painter's tape.
