The Lounge restaurant at Hilton Tel Aviv has begun using an innovative new salt alternative as a means to reduce sodium content in food.
The new ingredients are the liquid version of Umamix, umami, the natural vegetable essence found in Japan, enhancing the flavor of the food that adds it.
Hilton hotel is the first institution in the country to incorporate Umamix, the product of Israel's "Salt of the Earth" company, into food preparation.
Rafik Jabarin is the executive chef of Tel Aviv hotel, the chain.
"Hilton requires each hotel to provide at least four menu items that meet the criteria of this category;
The Umamix project integrates this concept, starting with the lounge restaurant in the lobby of the hotel.
